With a flat cap I'm not sure how many teams will be able to offer hall 9 mil. I'm also not sure he is worth it but oh well.

Fine. Mitts, 2020 1st, cond. 2020 4th for Danault.

Condition - If Danault resigns the pick is transferred.
If Danault resigns for over 5M or longer than 4 years the pick becomes a 3rd.
If Danault resigns for over 6M or longer than 5 years the pick becomes a 2nd.
If Danault resigns for over 7 years the pick becomes a 1st

Lol I made the condition too long

I understand you don't want to overpay for a 13th foward in Weal at $1m.

But you've got Lehks and Byron on the 4th making $5.6m combined. I'd prolly move one of them and put Weal on the 4th line at $1m.

You can’t compare Weal with Byron & Lehkonen. 2 are 3rd liners that can play up and down the lineup and are great defensively and one is a depth forward that is ok offensively and who you don’t want to play every night.

Kulak is not a 7th d-man. He's playing 2nd pair and gets excellent results. He's in fact more of a top 4 d-man than Chiarot is.

No argument here on that. I would much prefer Lehks and/or Byron than Weal. But i do like Weal on the 4th line.

The context is "overpaying" for a player. In the cap era having two 4th liners making $5.6m may mean you're sacrificing higher end players in the top half of the line up. The line up above may work for one year with Hall at $9m. But when all the UFAs are coming up next year, a lot of tough decisions will have to be made. (Lehks will likely want a bit of a pay bump, and Byron still have 2 more years)

Top in East and West 4th Lines (according to dailyfaceoff.com)
St. Louis' = Barbashev, MacEachern, Sundvist -- combined caphit of $3.75m.
Boston = Nordstrom, Lindholm, Wagner -- combined caphit of $3.1m

Ideally I think 4th liners for the Habs should be relatively reliable cheap players --- like Weal, Thompson, Cousins, and Evans (possibly) = combined caphit of all 4 players (if they were all still with the Habs) -- $4.2m

Here's hoping a player that is WORTH $9m+ is willing to sign in Montreal......that doesn't play in goal.
