At that point, Habs are not paying $18M for a 3rd line. And one of Drouin/Domi would be gone for a Top-6 RW. My guess is that they would have kept Tatar and Gally, and traded Danault. This is why I've been saying that Habs need to get their future 3C now, for when they need it in 2-3 years.

Yeah, it’s pretty hard to predict how things will shake out. I’m pretty confident Norlinder will turn out, and if the other 3 don’t, all we need is a 3rd pairing defenseman and to keep Mete.

Other than what I responded with on the other team, if we didn’t have Danault, Domi would just play C. Or we keep Poehling, and he plays 3C. Although if we could only sign one out of TDG, I’d go with Danault, because he’s the youngest, and has the most impact on the team.
