Honestly, the two biggest assets in this deal are Hamilton and Ehlers. The main defensive piece in this deal that Winnipeg is giving up is Heinola, NOT Pionk. The Bean for a 1st swap is the difference between a Heinola-level prospect (no joke of a player) and a Caufield/Zegras-caliber guy. As shown by my roster above, Pionk is basically treated as a bottom-pairing guy with PP skills and the potential for more. The way that I built this deal was essentially like this:
Hamilton (extended) and a 7th for Ehlers and Heinola
Fleury and Dzingel (50% Retained) for Pionk
Bean for a 2022 1st (which facilitates the Gostisbehere deal and balances the lack of Caufield or Zegras)
