Stats speak for themselves.

Tkachuk and Point also have 293 and 295 games played respectively that's 60 more games and about an entire rookie season. Point and Tkachuk were also significantly more sheltered. Point is also 2 years older. I would bet that with those extra 60 games played the difference in points between PLD and Chucky is around 15-20. Also unlike last year PLD had Panarin, Tkachuk still has Gaudreau, Point still has Stamkos and Kucherov.

I am a big Flames and Bolts fan and I still think PLD is the same caliber player as Point and Tkachuk. That's actually what I find most funny about this is I'm defending the Jackets player and you're defending the Flames and Bolts players.

I mean I just put it up as a number to show how the trade would work for Columbus. I’d pay PLD 8.5-9x8 if possible but with the trade it would have to be less.... kinda showing why we wouldn’t make the trade the we clearly “win”. Not sure we actually win said trade.

I think the trade is foolish, Jones is too good to move and this would criminally weaken your RD depth. Nylander isn't really a great option for 2C too. The value is there but it seems like poor asset management
