Play style. Cirelli is like a Bergeon, defensively responsible center with great offensive skills too. Hard working and dependale etc. Cozens plays a different game. Cozens is all about speed and power forward-esque plays. He gets dirty goals and has elite offensive skills (passing, shooting, awareness). Isn't afraid to be physical either, does whatever it takes to win. Won't be as good defensively or in the faceoff circle but will dominate the ice when he is playing which is something Cirelli doesn't do.

hes a top 5 selke candidate in his 2nd full season at 22 years old...you could argue he already does dominate and hes only going to get better

Cozens may be good/great but we all thought that about Mittelstadt and hes in the doghouse 2 seasons in.....

All im saying is theres a move out there to make the team better right now versus waiting another 2-3 years for some prospects to be what turns the franchise around im pulling the trigger before Eichel wants out of Buffalo

Cozens has proven he could have been a top 3 overall pick. Cirelli is also way older. Cozens could be a Cirelli in 2 year and score more...

dude Cirelli is 22 years old chill

hes 22 years old not 32 years old lmfao? don't be dramatic. hes older but the difference in age could easily be explained as development years. Lets say everything goes amazing Cozen might be able to be your 2c in 2 years ? hes 21 1 year younger? seems like a silly comment. what has he proven? hes 19 in the WHL. I would normally assume a top 3 pick is NHL ready to be plugged in? I understand why you are glorifying him. I tend to do the same for Protas and McMichael but I also realize to im being an idiot. you haven't reached that point yet. they could all be busts they could all be amazin. unknown factor

actually Cozens will be the 1C in 2 years if we continue to suck because Eichel will probably be on a different team...

im completely agree with you.... its not like you are trading Forsberg for Erat its literally a very solid 2c for 2 prospects and a 2nd …… Cozen is good but like I said before capitals drafted a guy in the 3rd round that had a comparable year in junior and mcmichaels was draft 20 spots after and imo is more impressive

I remember how much people roasted me tell me Nylander was going to be amazing …… though his return was amazing. or how CM was the next 2c and now they'll be lucky if hes a 3c.... i wouldn't trade Eller for CM.

Why would you pay Dillon $4,000,000. That is way too much in my opinion.

dude hes gunna get 3-4 mil per year and Buffalo always has to pay the higher end of a players range...hes a solid stay at home dman to pair with a guy like Montour or Risto and he has tons of playoff experience

Yes, I'm not saying that this trade is horrible, I would just rather trade a first for Cirelli rather than Cozens, unless Raymond is available at our pick
