All those years worth it for this cup. Let's see if we can win more... I don't have high hopes anymore, cause this is the hardest trophy to win in sports... but our team is so good in every year, that i have to hope we can do at least 1 more in like 3-4 years
About TJ:He is still here haha, i just watched the finals, we won haha. So c00l... At least he defended okay

I watched every single match of the playoffs from every other 24 teams, it took long... but worth the wait
We were miles better than the 2nd team, which was probably colorado/islanders tossup...
In my opinion this playoffs top 3:
1st Tampa(huge margin)
2nd Colorado(too many injuries cause the loss + mediocre goalies also injured,so noone left)
3rd Islanders, we beat them in though matches, but still a fairly convincing win.
4th probably Vegas but failed miserably to score any goals deep in the playoffs, they got tired or idk why...
5th was Dallas for sure... they made it to finals... can't really find a better team for 5th place... maybe boston if they had a goalie...
So it makes sense that we won. I predicted a finals/win and we won! Congrats to Cooper! Please, you owe him an apology! And i told you Palat is Cooper's fav player.... you can see why he likes Palat for like 9 years now? Because Palat is decent, when not injured!!! Not a capdump!
You hated Cooper/Palat/TJ/Gourde/Stamkos so much over the years. The coach and the players delivered in both the playoffs and in regular season over and over. You have to at least neutral with the coach now and don't hate the players please
I get it that you don't like Stamkos, but he is still an elite player if he is healthy... Last year he was top10 in whole NHL.... that's not bad i think for his caphit... now i think they changed places with Point, but still like top20...(just don't watch him defend, close your eyes

I was shocked to see TJ is still here after the speculation we did about him last year. But with Kuch injury, it makes sense we could keep him. Can we trade him at trade deadline or we need to wait until next playoffs over? He is just not a good fit here anymore. He is still a solid player in my eyes, just the cap hit a little high, but we can retain like 1 million$, and then it's not that bad anymore, especially after 3 years left only on his contract next season... The problem is he blocks us to get trade deadline acquisitions to make the team better. It's really hard to win back2back cups, however awesome and dominant we were.
It will be a completely diff playoffs this season... So every useful player would come handy... but with cap hell, we can't really hit a homerun like Coleman, Goodrow,Bogosian was surprisingly also decent...What if we go down in any series 0-2, then it's really hard to win, that's why u need every edge...
We can be out again in 2nd round/conf finals or even just random lose in finals, like against Pietrangelo strengthened Vegas...
Washington+Barry Trotz did it ofc we remember... Chicago was the better team back in like 2014... everybody was way too young... So we'll see what happens...
We'll see but i don't expect a cup finals this year for now... If we lose though in the playoffs(no doubt in my mind we make it ofc), we probably lose because of injuries like the season before this(Columbus wrecked us when playoffs mvp and Point were injured).
Covid helped for us to be super fresh in playoffs...
Next time probably no 5 months without playing so everybody can heal will not happening again...
Look at colorado how much injuries they had... It's about luck sometimes, and this time we were lucky. But it's back2back so highly unlikely we will have this smooth run, and probably worse roster as well, so we won't have this high edge over every team we play...
We litereally destroyed everyone...
was super easy...(reverse of last years series)
the usual stuff, no trouble vs pasta line...
we beat them regularly, they have just no elite players exept barzal...
we also play good vs them most of the time unlike vs Minnesota(we always lose LUL)... we can just score vs them, not unlike Vegas did in the conf finals...
Our offense is top1, to shut us down, need a healthy team with perfect gameplan and execution and super good defensive players... + hot elite goalie... Khudobin was tired for sure and never was elite... same with Varlamov... he is not Bobrovsky... Colorado dumped Varlamov for a reason... Boston played with backup goalie as well, that made things easier...
So next year's playoffs run will be so much harder.... so don't excpect a cup, just because we won this one...
It's gonna be completely different matchups.. puck luck etc... But still we have a good shot ofc...
Just not a lock like this year i was like 90% sure we made it to finals... and in the final if we were not facing a top tier west team, we can win.
Dallas was just a good defenfesive team without goalie + without offense. Literally Dallas can't score a goal sometimes for weeks... in recent years they struggle(Benn Radulov Seguin getting past prime age is the reason,defense is prime age)... and they did it vs us in stanley cup finals fortunately. Next time we probably face a much better offensive team, so a close to 50-50 battle... And to me they also look tired in the last match... we never had a shutout before it... So that was good for us...
Anyways finally the cup is ours , so we can be happy for a while! Wooohoooo!
