Zhuravlyov is a steady young LHD who partnered Romanov at the WJC and was part of the reason Romanov looked so good. Montreal would get to unite that excellent pairing of the future.

And yet nobody paid a 1st for Tatar...

because he wasn't available. If he's traded this year, we will see a comparable to the hall trade.

Both Coleman and Goodrow were two year investments. Tampa did those acquisitions in purpose. They are not comparable trades.

Tatar is a rental.

Goodrow hasn't had more than 30 pts. Two-years of Coleman might be the one worth the investment because of what he brings more than poitns (and he can get 30pts+). If you think that's both Coleman and Goodrow were decent deal, does this mean JT Miller (" four year investments for a player who can put up 50+ pts consistently) for a 2020 1st was a fleecing?

Tatar and Hall were actually rather comparable this year.

Cant really compare with the Hall trade tho because it gave the Yotes a top 10 picks ( if the Yotes gets knock out of the preliminary rounds) and a good D-Man prospect in Bahl.

Because he wasn't available the same way as Pacioretty or Subban. Bergevin was probably just listening to offers because the Habs were outside of the playoffs. He wasn't looking to ship Tatar/Petry just like he did with Pacioretty/Subban. He apparently refused to trade Petry to Carolina for Jake Bean and a 1st round pick. So yeah Tatar is worth at least a 1st from playoff teams. This proves that Bergevin wasn't actively looking to trade him despite the slim chance of making the 2020 (until the 24 team format was announced) or 2021 (yeah he still believe in that team can make a run in 2021 lmao) post-seasons.

Media played part of the tradebait for Tatar and Petry because the Habs were outside of the wildcard spot. Heck Bergevin eve

I think there might be a plot twist in the Goodrow deal, like Tampa agreeing to send something to San Jose in the offseason for their 1st back.

I never said Montreal should trade either. I’m talking about every time I see them in a trade on this site. Both are very good players, but both only have a year remaining and will be 30+ when their next deal starts. And people seem to think they’re worth way more than a rental. I saw a serious conversation asking what the Stars would have to ADD after Harley to get Petry. That’s ridiculous. You aren’t gonna fix your left side D with a 32 year old on an expiring contract. Sorry

There is no guarantee Harley could fix our LD. He is just a kid drafted in the middle of the first round. There is a ton of risk. Hoping Petry will resign with the Stars is also a risk, but can at least be somewhat controlled with Montreal allowing his agent talking to the Stars to see if there is a chance. Petry has played well enough to be a top 2D on most teams. Rentals have drawn more than a Harley in the past for similar players. Habs fans are asking for a lot, but most aren't asking for something out of the realm of realism.

I'm not saying those were wise moves. They were actually probably the worst from the entire deadline.

What I said was that they were not comparable trades with these delusional Tatar ones.

Their production is very similar except Tatar puts up better Advanced stats (for the most part). That's what happens when Hall is overrated and Tatar is underrated.

As an Avs fan I would rather acquire Tatar than Hall. Much better fit on the team with his solid defense and underlying possession stats. Hall is also a walking bandage, getting paid the money of a 90 point forward despite only have 3 seasons over 55 points in 10 years.
