Description
YES - Yes I know, it's really expensive for the goaltender position.
But hey, not every team is the same so... that'll be that.

It doesn't make any sense, but since the Habs are "stuck" with a huge contract in Price, it'll be like that for years to come.

Hopefully - and I'm giving myself the opportunity to do it hehe - the NHL announces, just like in the previous work stoppage, ONE compliance buyout per team with no penalty

Re: Nate Thompson: he's been an absolute leader and mentor for young players, and already has a job with the Habs following his career if he chose to - in player development. Even with 5 minutes a game, having this guy on the bench is positive.

Re: Ben Hutton: There are 2 other young LD prospects - Norlinder and Harris - who are 2 years away. Hutton can take a 2 year deal to beef up his value for another UFA contract soon after. Or someone else in that same talent-contract pool.

Re: Vicot Mete traded: it could also be Kulak - or Juulsen staying in the AHL.

Thew rest is not science obviously. So it's just for fun and therefore, please feel free to share your opinion.

Hope everyone out there (3 people reading this? 2? haha) is safe and well :)

As soon as you over-value any trade, if you're a Habs fan, you get haters infuriated. I prefer under-shooting a bit.

      Whether a 5th, or a 2nd, fine.
As far as players coming back and cap space, it changes nothing in my scenario.
And by the way, I agree with you guys, Mete is worth more than a 5th, but he's not going to be a top-4 defenseman in the NHL in my opinion.

He skates SUPER well!! Wow! Look at him go! Suuucchhh a beautiful skater. So fast!! Wow.

No offense. No shot. Has a hard time in the offensive zone.
Oh, and has a hard time in the defensive zone as well, because he's a bit small, has a hard time moving bodies in front of the net.
Yeah, he struggles a bit on offense and defense. But, BOY O' BOY can he skate. Did you see him skate?

Lol, I'm just having fun here hehe ;-p

What's the point of trading Mete? I think I'd rather have him over Hutton at this point. If he can play there comfortably, I'd rather go with the younger guy.

Good point. I just have a feeling as though Mete has already shown his ceiling. But I might be wrong.

But actually, I think you're right. At this point, might as well keep Mete in the fold, watch him go another full season. And he knows the guys, he's a good person, might as well keep the guy.

He is only 21. We would have seen progression if MTL gave him any powerplay time, but I don't see that ever happening since their powerplay has sucked and they still wouldn't try him.

The best case for Mete would be getting a new opportunity. He is still a really good defenseman I wouldnt accept anything less than an early 2nd for him.
