Description
So in my eyes it's pretty simple this team when healthy was built like a top 4 team in the nhl, keep as much as you can together and bring in another top 6 forward.. you can get that forward from in you system already ( kaut, jost, henry, ranta) or sign a UFA like hoffman, hall, dadonov, toffoli, or haula...

Now I'm not a big hall fan because he beat out MacKinnon for the heart but hes on record saying hes sick of not playing playoff hockey, and with the cap staying flat does he take a 1 yr deal in order to bet on himself, go deep into the playoffs and possible win before the cap goes up with seattle coming in and the new TV deal so he can really cash in, in free agency 1 yr later?

Having said that if Hall wants term then sakic is out on Hall

Is Cole actually hurt?

Why would you sit Timmins in the press box rather than play him in the AHL?

Jost a scratch?

I would definitely trade Jost. His value is going down every year and he really needs a fresh start
I think Hall would accept a 1 year 8mil contract. You have the cap space to do it so its not to big of an issue
Trade Zadorov if Timmins is on the nhl roaster

". you can get that forward from in you system already ( kaut, jost, henry, ranta) or sign a UFA like hoffman, hall, dadonov, toffoli, or haula..."

Henry and Ranta aren't close to being NHLers at this stage. Kaut needs to show that he can be a consistent bottom 6 player before he can be considered for the top 6.

Betting on Jost to make it as a top 6 forward now is quite optimistic. Not saying it can't happen, but it's unlikely, and a contender should be aiming for better. If you're going to scratch him we're better off trading Jost while he still has value, rather than killing his trade value by letting him stagnate as a healthy scratch.

I don't like any of the top UFA forwards this year, but I would sign one as long as the term didn't exceed 2023. If Hall is willing to go short-term them it would be silly not to sign him.

As for the D, I don't think we'll sign Zadorov to a short term deal. We'll either trade him or sign him with some term. It makes no sense to ride him to UFA in just 2 years.

Robidas island, buried in ahl or traded for nothing or bought out... I like cole but I'd rather have zadorov than cole as long as byram is ready

Hes scratched to show hes the first call up upon an injury, whenever EJ gets hurt next year

Ya I'd rather have every other person in the starting lineup than jost

I like zadorov, he brings alot to the team, rather be rid of cole who's a UFA at the end of the year anyway

You do what you like with your team, and I'll do what I like here, you literally just signed haula to a 4mill deal as a 3c in your last ACGM and in the one before traded for 7 million dollars in players who bring in 35 pts collectively, I prefer my team, zadorov short term because we are either going to lose him to seattle soon anyway and they will likely be a divisional rival or at the very least conference team, hopefully big Z can go to a eastern team in ufa

You're right, I did sign Haula. But note that I said "I don't like any of the top UFA forwards this year". Haula isn't one of the "top" UFA's (I would classify Hoffman, Hall, Dadonov, etc as the top ones).

As for my Wennberg and Anderson moves, they would easily bring more than 35 points on this team if Anderson can stay healthy.

Whatever the case, I do enjoy reading your posts and seeing your AGM, and I apologise if I've sounded overly critical or come across as antagonistic in any way. Thank you for sharing your insights on my AGM's and for replying to my comments. smile

Most everybody hit on what I was thinking, though Rampa is the one guy in the system to keep an eye on he is boom or bust, as he already has NHL level skating and shot.

There is no harm in giving guys 1yr deals especially if they remain RFA’s like Nichushkin’s, Jost, Graves and Zadorov. Also let’s not just throw Jost away. Kids mature differently, and he just turned 22. Ultimately he probably needs a change of scenery but if the team is so deep that he is your 13th forward is that a bad thing?
