Description
Sergachev offersheet. If it doesn't work out no big deal just keep Mete, he is like a young Jared Spurgeon (actually ahead of Spurgeon at the same age).

I would like to at least have Sergachev sign the offersheet so TB has to scramble if they want to keep him.

Kovalchuk contract has performance bonuses, at least $2.25M in bonuses.

I feel Simmonds won't cost this much.

But I really think that Montreal should try to OS Sergachev

Demchenko will not start with Habs. He probably will start with Laval. I dont see him making the NHL. His numbers were awful this season but last season they were good

Overpaid Simmonds intentionally to get him on a one year deal. Don't want his cap hit carrying over to next year when the habs need to sign Danault, Tatar, Gallagher, Armia, Petry etc.

Simmonds could be a good fit in MTL, his style would work with Domi and drouin if the habs want to put Gallagher back with Danault and tatar.

And the two seasons before, if anything last year was an outlier. He had 3 seasons of .930 before.

And I dont know if he will backup but hes cheap, lindgren is cheap, between the two of them one should be able to start the year in MTL as a backup goalie.

I know that. Read the last part of my last sentence. Also add Primeau into consideration

The last part of your sentence said "but last season they were good". I added to that by saying the last 3 seasons were good.

Yes they can fall back to Primeau as well although ideally he is left as the starter in Laval for another year. He is very nice insurance in case price gets hurt.

I think a 2nd is a little too much for Mete but that's just my opinion. This is a trade that could easily happen.

Do you think the guy signs it doe? I'd love him to come back but I feel he'll ask a little more money from Montreal just as a "Should've not traded me" or straight up say sorry not going to sign with you.

I personally wouldn't trade Mete for anything less. How many 2nd round picks make the NHL? How many 2nd round picks have 3 NHL seasons as a defenseman by age 21? I would want an early 2nd at least if I was trading him.

Mete has a lot of similarities to Jared Spurgeon.

I completely respect your stance on that. When you look at Detroit's defense Dekeyser is a defensive defenseman and so is Seider from what I've seen 22 points in 49 games in the AHL is outside the top 50 among defensemen. I really like Lindstrom he is very good defensively but you can't expect much more than 10-15 points a season from him. Now Hornek is a true 2 way defenseman and I think is as well but he is a couple years away from the NHL. Daley and Cholowski can both score but can they play defense well enough to be anything more than a 3rd pair or a power play specialist with Cholowski. That's why I think if Detroit is going to give up a 2nd for a defenseman he has to have more of an offensive up side than Mete has. But as I said before that is just my opinion.
