You would really be fine with Kapanen for a 2nd and a 4th?

I just dont see him getting a 1st. Not at the draft or free agency time. Maybe at the deadline. Kappy would be the one guy I'd keep over anyone else I traded. Big kappy fan. I just tried to make the cap work. Easiest way would be to move 1 of the big 2 rw... but marner isnt going anywhere and nylanders deal keeps looking better and better

Pens would be the one team to throw in their first. Rutherford is such a gunslinger he is never afraid to part with anything. He makes it work all the time. Big fan of him

And Thompson made 1 so it's a pay cut but not huge and they're both old

They're both efficient. Thompson can make $1,5M-2M. Brassard can get $2M.

I like them both but I doubt they make more money in FA then they did the previous year. They would probably get the same deal. I just trade to make the cap work.

With the way Rutherford has been heading, he might give two firsts and a top prospect. He used to be REALLY good at trades while blah at signings. Now he is blah at both.

Thompson made 1mil and has played for 7 or 8 different teams in his career. I'm sure if some team offers him 1.5 or 2 he would take it but I doubt anyone will. Hes 35 and a career 4th liner.
Pietro might not sign for 9 or 9.5 he might sign for 10plus he might sign for less.
Clearly people dont take pay cuts to play for leafs. Look at every contract they've signed in recent years. Other then spezza no one took a cut.
And offering a guy 100gs less then the previous year isnt really a low ball.
