Overpayment for Evans, a two year one way contract $700k would be more than enough of a raise on his two way contract. He will just be excited to have earned a one way contract as it likely means he will be in the NHL full time.

This is a good point, he's not what he used to be so why we will be giving futur assets for a guy who'll just decline year after year but still have a big impact of 11m for 6 -7 years on the cap. Also he would have to remove his NMC and i really doubt about that because he just build a house in LA last year and really appreciated the organization and living there so. This is awful for habs and he wont accept, so in my mind is a nop from both sides.
