<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>markmws</b></div><div>I won't comment on the trades, but just about the coach. I do not think Bergevin will fire Julien <em>yet</em>, but if they continue to slump there is a strong possibility of it happening. I do sincerely like Gerard Gallant. However, I would not necessarily be angry about Dominique Ducharme (though he's inexperienced at the NHL level), and I also think that anyone who's payed attention to the Canadiens probably adores Joël Bouchard. I am not saying that he would get the position this early, but he's done a marvelous job in Laval.

If they stick to the mantra of hiring someone that is bilingual (I am not going to talk about the rights and wrongs of doing that, just that it's historically how it's done in Montreal), other candidates could include André Tourigny, Patrick Roy, Mike Babcock, and Guy Boucher. If being bilingual is not a requirement, I could see Karl Taylor or Jim Montgomery get a look, and obviously Scott Sandelin would probably get a look too (though he'd may not budge from his position at Minnesota Duluth).</div></div>

I agree on a lot of things with you but Jim Montgomery is bilingual. He's able to speak french and could be a solid candidate. id love gerard gallant but he doesn't speak french (i know his name indicates the opposite haha). For myself i dont care which language the coach is talking as long as we win but i could understand why people cares about that. Also Bouchard is really good with developpement and this is why i want him In the AHL to developp kids. I think he would be better for the organization if he stays in laval rather than going in the nhl which is a performance league. But

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>I just want to touch on the "His value dropped because he asked for a trade." part, because it irks me when people say it without really thinking about it. I'm curious as to why you'd think it?

Here's how I look at it:

-PLD wants to be traded.
-He's under team control for 4 more years.
-He's 22.
-He has absolutely zero leverage.
-There's no rush to move him, and Jarmo has continued to show that he's probably the most underrated GM in the league.

If anything, I'd say his value has probably increased, given that there's a number of suitors out there looking to pick him up, now that they know he's available. As I said above, it's not like there's a gun to their head where they HAVE to move him, they just know that at some point, it's something that they're going to do. But, they can wait until they get the best offer available. Honestly, there's probably 15+ teams checking in on him, which is going to drive the price up. I realistically see no reason why anyone would think that Columbus would take a discount to move him at this point.

Also, from PLD's side, his best bet of being traded is to actually go out and play 100% every game (Again, since Columbus isn't likely to sell him at a discount).</div></div>

i understand your point but before all the rumours starts im probably sure if someone call for dubois jarmo hang up and he wasn't on the market, this is why i'd say his value drop, he is now no more untachable and jarmo doesnt have the choice to be open to trade him. Still the value has to be there.
