Making the finals isn't a consolation prize.. Jones is a top 5 RHD, maybe top 10 D when healthy. Johansen is no where near top 10 C, this trade was bad for them for sure.

This discussion got me thinking so I went back and looked at that Nashville team that went to the final and it makes it even clearer why the Preds made the Jones for Johansen trade, they had little to nothing at center on that team that lost to Pittsburgh when RyJo went out from injury, can also see why they made the move for Turris and signed Bonino, they had so very little for centers.

Like @MisstheWhalers said they had so many defenseman. Weber, Josi Ekholm and pretty much no centres.
Just because Jones is better doesn't mean that Nashville lost the trade

Completely agree. We needed him at the time, but I'm looking at now. Knowing the kind of player Jones is, the contract he has, Joey's inconsistency, etc., is it worth trying to reverse the trade? Think similar to what we did with Subban, pick him up for a couple of years making a solid top 4D, and hope the forwards pull their weight.
