Description
Avs have to give up their prize forward prospect, but it's ok: still have C-Bowers, W-Kaut, D-Timmins to rotate in that season as injuries inevitably happen again. Avs also retain 1st Rd Pick to upgrade at the TDL

Never said Newhook was bad but he isn’t one of the best prospect like you’d mentioned earlier. And 42 point on a Mature Boston college team who have had a bunch of senior this year is not representative. A guys like Alex Turcotte, who number are way above Newhook this year, is a far much Nhl ready stuff. The fact that he was playing in Wisconsin whit a much younger team had direct affect on is production. Have alread Have proven my point in many way. You haven’t shown any evidence of Newhook beiing one of the best Nhl prospect. So basically you are the one who is biased since you are a Avs fan and you can’t think right about it

lol, this is funny so, you think that im an avs fan that im baised, well hate to brake it to you but maybe you are biased, newhook is 19 years of age same with turcotte. turcotte was taken 5th there for he has higher expectations, newhook was 16th before switching to ncaa he was in bchl for his second year he was named captin and had 102 points in 52 games, turcotte in the usdp with 62 points in 37 games, newhook being a first line freshmen on a senior team is kinda hard when turcotte among other freshmens and sophmores made it to first line easy. newhook has 42 points in 34 games not playing easy teams. turrcotte 26 points in 29 games both are good with turcotte signing his first year in ncaa, newhook had to earn were he is, and is the top goal scorer on that team is that enough evidence?

@JeffW whats your take on this

Newhook was around the same pace production when this ranking was released. Newhook wasn’t good enough to make team Canada even with those stats. Newhook have been playing with senior in boston college, that have help him a lot. If you lok at that lit again m’at of the players on this lit have had great season so far so this wouldn’t change much. He could turn out te be Jost 2.0 or in a good second line center. But for now he haven’t done anything in nhl or in any league that gave him a special status

Yeah lets ask another biased Avs fan! How long have you been watching hockey ? How nany draft year have you followed? Newhook have follow kyle turris path and last time i check it wasn’t a true success story. The fact that you no nothing about NCAA hockey and you use point total to attribute how good players are is ridiculous. Henrik borgstrom had 43 point in 37 games in a stacked denver university team. Joey anderssen have had a first year in Ncaa that was more productive then the second one because senior have left after is junior year and he didn’t have the same players around him to produce

    12/15 before break = 0.8ppg
    30/19 after break = 1.57ppg

As far as Special Status, he was awarded both NCAA Player AND Rookie of the Month of February. This hadn't been accomplished in four years.

Wow the kids have no response no more. Because turcotte is already sign by is Nhl team and will have a shot next year at the big league. That why i bring him up.
And last time i check around the hockey community craig Button had much more influence the a 14 years old kid who doesn’t know much about Ncaa league and thibk that point is the real deal.

Craig Button is the idiot who signed Ryan O'Reilly to an offersheet from the KHL, not knowing he'd have to pass through WAIVERS first! That's why he's not a GM anymore: he doesn't know how to do his job.

Mantha will be 26 before next season. He'll be 30 before the wings next make the playoffs. He's their best trade option atm.

So we don't need Newhook when we're in position to add one of Byfield/Rossi/Stutzle and all 3 are pretty close to NHL ready right now, And Zadorov is a 3rd pairing LD at best. Mantha will get us a better return then what you're offering that's for sure. If Detroit were to put Mantha on the block i'm pretty sure there would be at least 20 interested teams. So demand for him would be extremely high. Your proposal doesn't even move the needle one iota. So Detroit easily declines your offer.

Z is a top-4 guy on most teams; he's already proven he can log heavy minutes during last year's stretch run. Avs not gonna apologize for an embarrassment of riches. I can appreciate your opinion of the deal based on not paying a lot of attention to the Avs in general. Just remember, Sakic saw more in Burakovsky than everyone else, and grabbed him for the bargain price of a 2nd & 3rd. I think when prospects are re-evaluated this summer, you'll have a different view of the value.

Jay feaster is the one who deposed the offer sheet for o’reilly. Maybe your the one who should be fired. That comment was unfounded and stupid.

Don’t try to resonate with those Colorado clown fan, i think that the fact they are so high above the sea level damaged their brain.awesome face they have the bestbteam in the league and all their prospect are top grade A one. And even their 7 round pick of this year draft hold more value then the first overall pick in this year draft. If you want to have fun just follow colorado threads here and you will understand what i am saying

Mantha's value is a lot higher then a Cman who's not even in the NHL and a bottom pairing LD, Don't get me wrong would love to add Zadorov just not for Mantha. And don't give me this crap that Mantha hasn't hit 50 points yet. Mantha currently has 38 points in 43 games pretty much translating to 75 points for 82 games he was slew footed by Jake Muzzin and took down to the ice breaking a rib and puncturing his lung. He missed 15 games last year due to a broken hand suffered in a fight. He's easily a 60-75 point winger in this league and is only coming into his prime now.

laugh Since when is the NCAA a proven ground for a players worth? Lot's of players do well in college. Then bomb in the NHL. This means absolutely nothing.

Its like using the months of October to December to frame a narrative on Byram vs looking at the last 18-20 months. He tries to pull this crap all the time and just looks sad doing it
He has no idea that some prospect coverage listed newhook in the top 10 of NHL drafted prospects not in the NHL currently.

Once he doesnt have any old out dated information to use in his argument he just moves on to name calling

Yeah right like your the one who know about it. Your just the biggest troll on this site. The fact that byram is on that list even if he had such a bad start to the season prove that button knows that stats are not the only thing that matter when you evaluate prospect. Because if it was the case byram would have been much lower on that list. So if you are done crying and insulting people and do a introspective of yourself you night found the path of happiness

Jay feaster is the one who deposed the offer sheet for o’reilly. Maybe your the one who should be fired. That comment was unfounded and stupid.

You're right, it was Feaster. But you are wrong on the stats, Newhook has doubled his production since winter break. Each wrong in one regard
