Signing look about right, As a big Krug fan i'd do 7 x 7 at the very most. If he wants more he can go elsewhere.

I'm not sure signing that many UFAs is a good move. Now I think Vancouver resigns Markström because Demko or DiPietro would make much better trade pieces.

I agree, but the sad thing is, is that there are no true 2nd line Cs as a UFAs this offseason. We might have to wait until the 2021 offseason and sign someone like Krejci, Stastny or Getzlaf for a short term rental to help the young guys develop as we will still be in a rebuild. Even still, the 3 guys I named might not even be 2nd line C's by the time 2021 offseason hits. Also, they might not want to come to Detroit....

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree that is an over-payment. I just figured to get him to come to Detroit (even though he has the Michigan connection) it would take a lot. I would be extremely content with a Edmundson or Dillion...although I want Edmundson in Winnipeg so maybe target Dillion

I know it sounds weird to say about a defensive second pair dman but I want Edmundson on this team next season. I covet this guy. He's a great glue and with the lack of vets on the blue line he'd be great for the kids. Put him next to hronek and it's the best pairing we've had in years. Krug is awesome though, get that contract to 5x7 or 7.25 million I'd be in on it
