Description

Caps fans, what do we think we have in Nardella? I keep checking in on his stats and I watch some of the Hershey games. He seems to be adjusting very well to AHL. His stats are eerily similar to Torey Krug, both had 34 points in 38 games in College during their final year, albeit Krug was 2 years younger. He's putting together a solid year in the AHL. Think he finds his way onto the caps roster next year? even for just a few games? what's his ceiling?

There's a huge difference between putting up those NCAA numbers as a 20 year old compared to a 22 year old.

Not saying there's nothing there, he's having a pretty solid rookie season, at least Offensively. When it comes to College Free Agents you recognize that they very rarely become more than AHLers. It's not so much "is he the next Torey Krug?" but rather "Is he a future NHL player?". If a College FA can be a regular NHLer that's a win.

There might be something there though.

Agreed, that's all I was getting at. Torey Krug is somewhat of an anomaly from college players but if he could become half the player he is thats still 20-30 points a year.
