Bowman is a bum and should be finished. I think, judging by twitter and most users on this site, were ready for that full rebuild. No one is safe.

You know better than anyone that I was Byram guy at the draft. I honestly don't know if he'd be a top 10 pick if we redrafted today. I'll admit that Byram's bounced back in the second half of the season, but he was looking AWFUL for half the year. Also more importantly...Moritz...dang. The AHL >>> WHL too. A CLEAR DROP FROM THE NHL, but 20 points in 46 games against grown men. He's 100% better than Byram. I hate to admit that since it's DET, but it's true.

I understand you won't accept Dach being in the NHL. I won't try because it's wasted effort. I'm happy to see him out there. He's FLYING around now. It's EXACTLY what I said was going to happen. He's finally picking up the pace of the game and he's playing center. I'm very happy with his progress this year because 5V5 hockey is the key for a guy that young. Keep getting him ~17 min a game. Teach him the off ice stuff. Get him into the gym and mean. Right now his ceiling doesn't have a limit. Next year will be key for him.

Just thought of this after I finished the last message. Next year will tell a lot about Dach for sure. But the unfortunate thing for him is that after yesterday, the future was this team is incredibly uncertain. I’d be willing to bet Dach doesn’t see playoff hockey for at least another 4-5 years.

All I want from Dach to prove he can actually contribute consistently on offense. Cuz he wasn’t picked for his defensive exclusively. Forechecking and back checking are great attributes to have. However, they are attributes every 4th line grinder has. You like to say KK plays for the best team, but don’t think for one second he plays with the better players. Dach gets all the strome, cat, and Kane he wants. Supposedly he was a playmaker when we drafted him, and while there are signs of that, he hasn’t done enough with the players he has the fortune to play with. I actually came to realization that Dach reminds me of a right handed Jordan Staal. Good defensively, could score hopefully 40-50 points a year at his peak. At 3rd vs Staal at 2nd, that’s not bad right? Honestly, at this point I’d take that for sure.

Also, and this doesn’t get brought up enough, this kid has to learn how to shoot. I see it in practice every day, and I even saw it a charity function when he complained and made a scene because he couldn’t get his slap shot over 87 mph. He has yet to actually score a goal on a true wrist shot too.

Either way, these comparisons to Hughes and KK just keep making all three look like bums at this point. I have to keep an eye on these three as part of my job and it hasn’t been a good first look for the 2019 draft. Congrats to all three for being here now, but that doesn’t mean they should have been. None of them have lived up to the offensive attributes they showed pre draft (although I did say Hughes would have trouble adjusting). Seider vs byram is a conversation even more about biases than dach. Hawks fans are the only ones who try to justify Dach by saying byram has been bad. Byram hasn’t been bad, he’s been learning. Sakic gave him an assignment when he went back to the whl, and he’s doing it. Everyone in the Avs organization I know tells me this every week. Good news is, we will see in April cuz he’s definitely coming up when the junior season is over. Seider is a stud, but did anyone really question that?! Stevie Y picked him! Stevie Y is a genius.

If this draft were done over, the only things that would change would be the 3-5 possibly being different and caufield and newhook getting higher.

Dach has 4 points associated with Kane. They've been on the ice together for 180 minutes...out of roughly 700. Dach's actually played better AWAY from Kane than he did with Kane. That's actually a very good thing too. The don't exactly play the same game anyway. I want Kane and Kubalik together for a bit to see if Kuba's snipe can work consistently. I don't actually like Dach with Strome either. Strome is a center and needs to be the #3C center on this team going forward. I don't care who Debrincat stays with. Give Dach line mates that play similar styles. Heck put Strome with Kane and Kuba!

I understand the process of developing someone in the minors. No worries. I can support that 99.99% of the time. I'm happy Dach's here. I do think Jack Hughes should have spent time in the minors. Especially considering how bad that team is right now. What I don't get....is everyone's a bum to you. Everyone except Turcotte...who isn't doing anything special with the last place Badgers. You must have some personal tie to him.

I didn't see Seider being drafted that high. I also thought Byram would take a step forward this year....wrong on both accounts. Sakic told him to go back and learn the defensive side off the game. WITH LARGELY the same team...he's played worse defensively. Same System. Same Dpair. Same goalies. Points are down and goals against are up... Not seeing how that's a good thing.

Next year is indeed very important. I agree with you there, but Turcotte will still be in Wisconsin...or in Ontario...

Turcotte would be better served staying in Wisconsin. No matter what anyone says, the NCAA is an amazing place to learn an all around game. Turcotte needs that. Canada is a great place to learn the offensive game. Don’t forget about all the great two way players who played in college. Toews anyone?

Only thing I can say about the hawks lineup is get that strome cat Kane line back together for the love of god. Let the cuffs off that line too. I don’t care who Dach plays with as long as they can shoot and skate.

As for development and other prospects, I’ll start by saying the obvious: I don’t like that Dach is here. He shouldn’t be, he should be dominating somewhere where he can get 20+ minutes a night. He never dominated the whl and was never any where near consistent as a prospect. I just wanted him to learn that kind of trait. He calls himself a winner, but he’s not. He’s never won a damn thing in juniors or at this level. Going back to saskatoon could have taught him some more of that. As for prospects and turcotte, I love turcotte, byram, zegras, seider, caufield, newhook, and many others. I even love Hughes, love speed players. I’ll be completely honest and say I’m not the biggest fan of kakko, but I did think he’d transition to the nhl just fine (obviously got that wrong). But of course, I just don’t like Dach. So not everyone is a bum to me, not even close. Where people get me wrong, is that I’m not easily seduced by players who jump straight to the nhl. All three would have been better served learning more in juniors and gaining confidence.

I’m gonna have to pass on comment for byram though. That’s one that will just play out in April. 43 points and a +16 in 44 games. Okay. I guess. He’s still the best dman in his class no question as of now, but seider looks ridiculously good. Stevie Y doing Stevie Y things. Have fun fellow hawks fans, the red wings will recover way faster than we ever could.

I tried to like twice........Don’t tease me.

This also reminds me, someone needs to look up how often 1st round picks have let their rights expire. The last person I can think of is Kevin Hayes who was drafted by..........oh, right.
