Exactly why Rutherford did what he did. He may have panicked after the three game skid, but no doubt this team is better today than it was yesterday. Only issue Is, when pens fully get healthy (if they do), they’ll be sitting a lot of good players

That’s a good problem to have. I am still not a fan of Sheary though. Even though the analytics say he’s driving the play & getting chances, I don’t think he does enough scoring to help the team win.

He did 2016/17 season

Sheary has been a different player when he is here in PGH as opposed to Buffalo, he is better suited due to the talent around him and not as much focus on him. He's never gonna score 25-30G in a season but if he can get to 15-20 he will be well worth it. Not to mention he is a UFA at seasons end, same with Rod so if it doesnt work out we have 5m in cap space.

I just hope that Sheary is more mature and mentally prepared than his last time here. Confidence was a real issue and he got benched in the playoffs plus struggled during the 2017/18 season. I don't doubt his skill level or work ethic, he just needs keep his composure.
