Exactly. Sakic has made it clear that their top-3 prospects (Timmins, Byram, Newhook) are completely off the table. I think the deal makes a ton of sense for both teams.

With what NJ just got for Coleman, this doesnt do it for MTL. I like Zadorov but Jost is another center prospect MTL doesnt need. So it would need to be a defensive prospect like Timmins instead.

Like I said, Byram/Timmins/Newhook are completely off the table.

Zadorov + one of Kaut, Bowers, Jost + one of Kemenev, Greer Plus a 1st and 2nd is the max they should go

This doesn't seem that far off in terms of value, but it's just not what MTL needs.

Possibly, just an idea for a trade. Zadorov is a top-4 D and still has more upside. When he’s on his game he’s completely dominant. Shut down Pastrnak earlier in the season, don’t think Pasta had a single shot.

I like Zadorov, but MTL should be looking for a point producing D (outside of Weber and Petry) and Jost is an interesting prospect, but for once in my lifetime as a habs fan, I'm satisfied with the centre depth.

Although, I am interested to see if a trade with Colorado before the 24th is possible, especially with the news that Bergevin and Scott Mellanby are in denver today. I think a trade for Kovy is entirely possible
