Montreal needs a left handed shooting d-man, not a righty. Makes more sense to go after Brodin instead

They need a RHD to replace Petry, we got a tons of LHD prospect coming in the next year or 2

Petry is signed through next season. Montreal refuses to rebuild and wants to win during Price's and Weber's years. Likely Petry stays. Plus there's Juulsen, Brook, and Fleury on the right side in the system. There's not much at LHD in the system.. Brodin is the better option. And he can play both sides if needed

Romanov Harris Norlinder all LHD

Romanov might be good.. Harris and Norlinder are nothing special. Likely they're bottom pairing options

I could see the Wild doing Brodin for Domi. If it’s Dumba then MTL would likely need to add.

I would not sleep on Jordan Harris.
Did well last year and has really stepped up and is leading his team.

I wouldn't be apposed to Domi for Dumba, but 1 year of Brodin is not nearly enough for Domi.

Dumba is the only Dman I’d trade Domi for with MIN. This Brodin nonsense is getting annoying lol

People go straight to “bUt ThE hABs NeEd Ld”...no, Habs need a top pairing left handed OFFENSIVE defensemen that can QB a PP. The only criteria Brodin has with that is he’s a LD. He’s not a top pairing guy, and he’s a defensive Dman (having a good year) that plays zero PP time. If MTL would go after him, one of Mete or Chiarot would have to go. That’s it.

MTL probably have and definitely should have major interest in Dumba. Weber and Petry be damned. Acquiring Dumba gives MTL the flexibility to move Petry for what looks like could be a major haul either at the trade deadline or in the summer. Knowing that MIN would have interest in Domi (being able to play Center) and his similar age to Dumba, same for Dumba’s contract length and Domi’s years left under team control. There’s an obvious fit.
