Take out Zboril and Cehlárik and add Lauko and the Kings might be interested.

Zboril and Cehlárik are longshots to make the NHL and Kuhlman is an ok bottom six forward. Not enough for Toffoli and the Kings taking on Backes's cap hit for a year. They need something that has the potential to fit into their top six.

Holy KING'S RANSOM!!
Toffoli is a rental mofo and a struggling one at that. Better add some retention of let's say $3M too?.
Only immediate reason for Sweeney to do something crazy like that is...20 min after this "deal" is announced he signs Krug...
Otherwise - HARD PASS.

Toffoli is not struggling this year.

Zboril is very likely to be an NHLer. He’s just blocked

TT 14G & 16A or 0.54 pts per game. Since the start of 2020 (6 weeks now) he's got 3G and 4A in 15 gms - my bad, he's on fire!!!!
Moreover, he would be #8 on Boston for points.
Yeah TT had years past w/ 23G, 31G and 24G...point is, in the here and now, he's a declining asset. A rental/UFA @ US$4.6M per and not worth the haul posted by B2K11...Unless Krug is signed 20 min later.
Thankfully, Sweeney went to Harvard and if he did this trade he knows he'd be unemployed.

What he has done this year is what you should expect out of him. He's doing better than his last two seasons, but not as good as his 31g campaign 4 seasons ago. He is a 20-25g scorer (which is his current pace right now). He will likely not be a 30g scorer again.

That's awesome Canuck...do the exercise yourself then please (ie: insert similar Canuck players Loui et al. where the Bruins ones are and you pull the trigger on the trade) - you'll have a crappy taste in your mouth for sure.
The point is as stated above he's not worth that - 6 assets for 1!! No GM does that and Backes while a s h i t t y contract etc. is not a must dump at all cost.
Studnicka is likely a better farmhand fit to insert than Toffoli and just roll the dice there and keep the assets for a better time and better deal (Palmeri for instance - better scorer and has term)...

OK screw Toffoli 100%...
The much better add would be how does Boston fit J. Carter into the mix:
* Yeah ugly that he's 35 yrs old, has an ugly US$5.2M cap hit, good tho is his 17G , and ugly is he's signed until he's a fossil...
BUT
* Can he be the 2nd-line RW w/ Krejci + powerplay Pro? Or
* Be the 1st line RW w/ World Cup buddies Bergy/Marchie and then Pasta goes to D.K.'s wing?? hmmmmmm

You could have Carter for a 3rd round pick.
2nd round pick would get you Carter @ $1.27M retention (i.e. $4M cap hit).
2nd + Lauko would get you Carter @ 50% retention.
1st + Lauko would get you Carter @ 50% and Kings would take Backes.
