WHYYYYYYYYY would Ottawa pay a 2nd for a guy that is now often injured and will never be the same with a brutal cap hit and 1 goal who leads the NHL in money per goals. maybe give them a 1st round pick to take that contract. Has fans are Byron crazy.

often injured?

he never missed time until the last 12 months and its different injuries .
before that he played almost every game from the time we picked him up until just after christmas break before the New Year he fought a player he injured earlier in the year resulting in him leaving the ice for the night and being out 2-3 weeks .

Gallagher went through this before his 30 goal season missing 3 stints in 12 months over 2 seasons but since surgery has been better then before playing all 82 games of both seasons that followed surgery and 44 thus far this year . (he did miss time due to friendly fire knee to the head but looks fine regardless)

Byron isnt worth a 2nd straight up but there's deffinately value to anyone who knows the details and doesnt just assume things based on their lack of knowledge.

Byron for Chlapik and a 5th

a player in a similar position as to what Byron was in as a fringe NHL player with potential like byron based on his Speed/forecheck

OTT gets a local Lockeroom Leader and someone to address the french media .
IF OTT wants to fill those arena seat this will deffinately help especially if JGP goes who handles a large part of that responsibility .
all that aside he's a 20 goal scorer who forechecks hard .

When did Gallagher turn 30? Yes 3 times in 12 months is often injured and by playing so hard through this career Byron will never be the same player. But you should keep him if he is that good still because nobody will touch him and that contract unless you are taking a contract back that is equal or you are giving up something good to the other team. Face reality.

Actually, it's more than a year. So yes, 2 playoffs seasons with a mature 2-3 Dman will get you that kind of return. See: Muzzin, Jake.

On another note. That Byron trade is hillarious.
