Yeah and Scandella had a 4 million dollar cap hit, which is a much less attractive salary. (he isnt better either, they are actually nearly identical so Props to you for that comparison) So for scandella that proves my point.
As far as Forbort, he has split time in the AHL (on a not-so-deep LA defense). Moore is playing and playing well on a deep defense
Etc. Etc.
Not to mention, the 4th rounder that Scandella was traded for was looking like a top 5 pick (in the round)
So yes, because of everything we have both said, John Moore is worth a low 3rd round pick. (Fine I am sorry I did Ottawa, I intended to say "any team", but I failed to do that)
Lol, It proves MY point, not yours.
His 4m cap hit is an expiring contract, which to a lot of teams is less of detriment than being tied to Moore for 3 more years.
They guys i listed are all mediocre 5-7 types, roughly same age, roughly same ppg, roughly same Corsi ratings, grade out across the board very similar. The difference being contracts. Ranging from 1.4 to 4 and expiring to 3 more years. The other thing they have in common. You would not give up a 3rd for any of them. I’d hope not anyway. McQuaid had more value last year as an expiring contract. 4th and Kampfer. You might be able to squeeze a late 3rd out of someone who is desperate. Doubtful though. More likely to get moved in a package as a throw in as opposed to being moved straight up for more than a 4th or 5th.
And you could make the argument that Scandella is the best LD on the roster in Montreal. Or at least close, Chiarot, Kulak, and he are not that far apart. No team adding Moore is going to be able to say that.
Forbort was down on a rehab assignment.
Moore does not have 3rd trade value, no matter how you want to try to spin it to fit your narrative.
I know. I know. He has to, because you can’t possibly be wrong. Lol. Seriously. Look at you. Ya ya, he went for a 4th. But it might be an early 4th so that’s the same as a 3rd so of course I’m right. ?.
