Montreal was a better team with Paccioretty 2 years ago. Sometime you need to evaluate how players with high potential can improve in a new environment.

not really he didnt want to be here anymore
plus he had most of his 30 goal seasons with Desharnais as Center
once DD went out for the season after re-injuring himself that was it
Pacioretty's offense suffered to as they tried to force him to play with Galchenyuk and then Drouin as Center .

He deserved a Real Center to play with or atleast another DD
he did have good Chemistry with Danault however but by the time they lined up together the off ice battle in the media took over.
Worse thing we ever did was give him the weight of the C on his shoulders as he clearly did not enjoy it and has resumed his regular old style of play since playing without it .

that being said MTL was a crap for a long time .
Molson came on and we went from top PP in the entire league with Kovalev scoring i believe 47 PP points to a mediocre team with 2 great goalies

Our team today atleast has hope with some of the best Prospects i've seen in a long while .
Suzuki , KK , Poehling , Romanov , Caufield , and Primeau are better then any prospect drafted 2011-2016 by MTL.
those are just the ones that are household names to with Struble , Norlinders , Hillis ,Ylonen,Ikonen , Brook and Harris deserving their mentions .
