I like the trade from a Calgary stand point, MEP is a solid prospect but will miss pur window. Sj reade is fine, maybe a 3th instead of a 5th from the Sharks. I dont think Pittsburgh will offer that much but a 1st and decent prospect sounds about right, Kreider will certainly be traded though. New Jersey will never accept that.

I think given some context, Pitt is more likely to make the deal (Guentzel injury + Kreider salary retention + Hallander being injured most of the year), and they only have a couple more shots at a cup with Malkin/Crosby. I think the Jersey trade is fine. Wood is a bottom 6 player, and Boqvist is struggling mightily at the NHL level. They've have a ton of interest in a top pair dman and they have the cap space to do it. I think it's kinda close. What do you think should be different about the cost for a top pair Dman? The price was only so low coming from Winnipeg because Trouba was refusing to sign anywhere except with the Rangers. The original rumored price on the open market from the Rangers pov was Buchnevich + Lundkvist + 1st. This is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than that.

TBD....I don't disagree.. But i'd be a *smarter* move to trade Trouba and sign Deangelo since they bring comparable on ice value and Deangelo is younger/cheaper.
