Chaos After Guentzel Injury

Description
The Guentzel news is terrible, but the team has already come so far. Even they struggle, it’s too late to tank for Lafreniere. They have to keep going. Maybe this will be a blessing in disguise for Galchenyuk and he’s going to finally start performing like the elite forward he was drafted as. However I honestly think the team needs to trade for Marner. The Leaf fans don’t want him, but I’d take him on my team any day of the week.

A fast, skilled physical top line Forward who can play with Matthews, an A defensive prospect and a top pick. All in exchange for an overpaid winger.

Dude you gotta be kidding, Marner for a UFA, a late first round pick and another smallish LHD who has been traded once already. We have Dermott and Sandin who both project to be better.

First off Kieder is a nice 2nd line LW, nothing earth shattering. If the TML brass were to do something so stupid it would be your 2020 1st, your 2021 1st, Kreider extended for 6x6 and Pettersson.

I don’t mind making that trade. However, keep in mind Marner is not worth as much as you think. He’s overpaid, so that deflates his value.

“Leafs fans don’t want marner” exactly how far up your ass was this when you pulled it out?

I can’t tell if you’re a troll or the dumbest member of this site.

Leaf fans are all over Twitter wanting him out. Everyone knows they’d rather have Nylander over Mitch.

Please go to a rehab centre because you need help. All three of our stars were overpaid, no question that Dubas did a poor job of negotiating. Being overpaid 2-3 million on your super stars is no big deal. Like I said it would have to be a massive overpayment to be worth our wild and the original trade is woefully bad.

If you don't think Leaf fans hate Marner, then you're blind. They always say that Nylander is better than Marner, which I'm not sure is true. However, if you look at all the Evolving Hockey charts, Nylander is not only better than Marner, but also leads the league.

I guess I’m blind and deaf because I have never heard any Toronto fans say the Nylander is better than Marner. We weren’t happy with the demands made by all three of our stars considering they have yet to win a playoff round but that again has to do with our Management’s poor negotiations. Second show me any of these charts that show Nylander is better than Marner!

Some fan site, really. I already said all three were over paid. Kid had 94 points and was the engine of the team. Should he be making around 10 per but overpaid on AM and what is his agent and family saying after he wasn’t given any B bonuses on his ELC and just lead the TML in scoring. At the time Nylander’s contract was up he should have been paid around 6-6.5.

Yes, I agree that they all got a little bit more than they deserved. Of course Marner is an elite player, but I think what I offered was fair in value. A top 6 Forward, a top 4 defenseman and a 1st Round pick. How much more can a player be worth? He isn’t Gretzky.

You changed your offer after what I suggested to potentially get a deal done and I asked for two firsts. Look just saying nobody in Toronto believes Nylander is the more important player regardless of some possession metrics. Nylander will likely be a 60-70 point guy unless he continues to play the way he has the past 6-7 games. Does he have the skill to be Pasta, yes but he hasn’t had the motor up until recently. Marner has the skill and motor. It may come down to one being forced to be shipped out but I think AJ and Kap get moved before either of them.
