  4. Choix de 4e ronde en 2020 (VGK)
  5. Choix de 7e ronde en 2020 (WPG)
Détails additionnels:
3rd becomes a 2nd if Jarry has 10+ wins for the Leafs regular season and playoffs

This trade addresses present D depth for the Pens (Marinicin) and addresses long-term D with a B prospect (Hollowell). Plus a 3rd(maybe 2nd) 4th and 7th. Honestly, I think this is an overpayment for a not-fully-proven 2nd Goalie on an expiring contract.
2.
TOR
  1. Toffoli, Tyler (2 000 000 $ retained)
  2. Walker, Sean
Détails additionnels:
Walker is good but not fully proven at the NHL level yet. Toffoli is on an expiring contract he's a rental and has less upside than Johnsson on a point/skill basis. Walker is clearly the needed upgrade on RHD for the Leafs. Toffoli I see as a good-quality NHL forward who checks hard which will fill a good middle-6 role and gives the leafs another Hyman-like player as a rental for this season so we don't hurt our depth more.
LAK
  1. Bracco, Jeremy
  2. Johnsson, Andreas
  3. Kivihalme, Teemu
  4. Choix de 6e ronde en 2020 (CAR)
  5. Choix de 7e ronde en 2020 (EDM)
  6. Choix de 3e ronde en 2021 (TOR)
Détails additionnels:
Johnsson + Bracco + Kivihalme = Toffoli + Walker.

overpay for a backup

As I said I think it is too but it sounds like the consensus in the league is that you'll overpay to get an NHL-caliber backup right now. Also every other Jarry trade I posted everyone said it was an underpay. I'd go big or go home to get a backup right now as the Leafs are in serious need of one.

Jarry was originally drafted to take over the starter position from Fleury. Murray ended up being a surprise for the team but has faded off as of recent and Jarry has really taken a step forward. Both are starter caliber and there is a decent chance one of them is traded this year or in the off season but certainly not for the return of a backup.

Overall Jarry isn't really for trade atm, especially if that's the offer. Toronto's best bet is one of DeSmith, Copley, or Campbell. Campbell will cost a bit more due to his incredible numbers last year and great contract.

No, I'm a sane fan of the team that realizes that Jarry has been outperforming Murray, who always gets better with competition, and that Jarry also makes below league min, and is likely the long term future in net, also notably much much much much better than Desmith who can be had for less than a 4th

I mean, he also could be riding a bubble-like some rookie goaltenders do when they enter the league. His previous 29 games before this season are nothing special. The Penguins are definitely preferring to hold on to him because unless a team is looking to overpay they have nothing to gain from a trade. But I wouldn't be touting him as their future goaltender just yet.

He's been their future goalie since he was drafted, Murray just came out of nowhere, he's been highly touted for a while, then the hype died down, and he's finally living up to it to an extent, plus his callup two years ago was pretty good, last year it wasn't, but he got like 2 games last year lol
