Then we should be getting at least a 3rd for taking on a cap dump and retaining on Galchenyuk

Not long ago I read an NHL exec rip Puljujärvi to shreads.
They said his numbers in Europe were bogus. That he was playing East-West on the wider rinks and that crap isn't going to work in the NHL. He went on to say he's never changed his game and that the attitude about changing isn't helping his cause.

I don't see how this trade benefits the penguins. By all accounts Puljujärvi is a bust.
Even if you don't like Chucky, taking on cap dumps for him doesn't help the penguins in any way.
I actually have more faith in Chucky turning it around at some point than I do Puljujärvi ever being more than a 3rd 4th liner that has minimal contribution.

Horrible trade for the Pens. Puljujarvi and Manning for Jack Johnson might be the only way that the Pens with for that return. Puljujarvi is NOT AN NHL CALIBRE PLAYER. People need to accept that. Manning is a worse D than Jack Johnson, just less term.

Yes, but then maybe he'd be the odd man out, and we could finally rid oursleves of JJ.

There is really no reason to think that Sully doesn't like Galcheyuk. He is given great oppurtunity to succeed, hes just not getting the results right now. He and the rest of the penguins have had 1 healthy lineup this season. So the line jugglin is entirely due to that. Sullivan likes people that work hard, and while Galchenyuk hasn't performed on the scoresheet, i have never noticed him openly pout or play lazily. I actually think he has given a pretty decent effort .

And now that i think of it, you talk about not liking a player??? what coach is his right mind would want a player that flees the NHL because hes unhappy with his situation, that he brought on himself. Puljujarvi is a **** player with a **** attitude, thats why no one wants him.

“He’s gotta be more focused on just playing the game the right way,” Sullivan said of Galchenyuk after the Penguins’ overtime loss to the New York Rangers. “Competing on pucks, winning puck battles, being strong on the wall; all the details of the game. For me, if a goal scorer struggles, just based on my experience, part of it is taking the focus off of scoring and putting the focus on what you can control. That’s just how you play the game, how you think the game, how hard you compete on pucks, just being focused on that next play, and the goals will come.”

He also does not use Galchenyuk in OT despite the team struggling there and Galchenyuk having a history of success in that part of the game. Numbers-wise, he's been like a worse version of Kessel over his career. Sullivan does not like Kessel and clearly isn't a big fan of the guy.

"There is really no reason to think that Sully doesn't like Galcheyuk. " There's plenty of reason.

"what coach is his right mind would want a player that flees the NHL because hes unhappy with his situation, " A coach that wants a talented player that has a chance to be decent.
