Cats would never make that trade. Borgstrom isn’t being moved unless a team overpays for him.

NYR NO on Ghost. They have more than their fair share of offensive D's DeAngelo and Fox are both more valuable than Ghost at this point. Ghost is terrible defensively and he's inconsistent on the PP. He's a net-negative at this point.

Very enticing but I don't like Laughton. What do you equate him to?

I mean that's pretty unclear. Seems like Q isn't a big fan of his. The angle here is giving you a top 6 player that will probably be your 3C and give you a super strong 3rd line for a playoff run that you can also resign.

Strome as a p/gm player seems to be getting valued as around a late 1st... how much do you think Borgstrom is getting as a 22 year old who has underperformed in the NHL?

As a 22 year old 44 point guy last year I'm not even sure Kapanen could get a straight 1st...

Ghost is very good defensively in the same way that Fox is very good defensively and we don't need him for the PP. I value him very highly. He's also pretty solid on the PP as well lol.

If that’s the case then why want him? Why not keep Strome if he’s so great? Q is making him earn his spot by playing the right way. He doesn’t care about his draft position or his high end ceiling until Borgstrom shows he can play a complete game consistently he won’t be on the roster.

Simple, you guys are in a win now situation and we're in a win in 3 years situation. We'd rather not re-sign Strome because he's taking up spots for our young C's. But for you he's a pt/gm player right now who can help get you a cup...

This isn't a trading a good for bad. This is trading a good right now vs. good for in a few years situation. As most vet for prospect situations work.

I understand your point but he isn’t worth a top prospect. Borgstrom is a top end talent they can be patient with him. He’s much closer than you think

Strome has been a disaster everywhere but as a Ranger. He looks great so far this season, but is that really enough to justify trading a top prospect? Remember Strome in EDM a year ago, lol? He was pretty much the worst player in the league.
