Description
So i know that TO fans will rip this but, more than once a star has seen himself above the team. I think this way TO gets a hard player with some serious skills, a backup Goalie and a couple picks and a bit of cap space for a guy that is leaving in a couple years... So Rip away

2 first rounders are too much.Stone is the best 2 way winger in the league. With one first rounder it sounds fair.

I wanna give the Dwight Schrute "false" to this one
They can keep Stone and the 1st rounders. Matthews is going nowhere, especially for that pile of rubbish

Spoken like a true Leaf fan... The reality is that He has been bad since not being named Captain, He will be leaving as soon as his contract is done. ZERO chance he stays. Stone would fight for his team mates . Suban is still better than what you have as a backup.

Problem w/ AM is he thinks he's first in goals and first in points.
As per CapFriendly, there's a cost-per-point and the Leaf STARS (Dubas too) are not fairing well. AM is 353 out of 636 players in the NHL (US$431,000 per point!!). T Barrie (US$850,000 per point), JT (US$785,000 per point) MM (US$605,000 per point), WN - a bargain at (US$410,000 per point)...!
For comparison...Marchand = (US$175,000 per point), Draisaitl (US$193,000 per point) and their teams are winning ha ha.

cost per point is a really dumb way to evaluate players. we're all aware that the leafs have expensive forwards thanks.

i've said before that if marchand was playing at his current level before he signed his contract he would be making a lot more money. draisatl's a good player but everyone **** on that contract when he penned it. and again, cost per point is a dumb way to evaluate players.

Ok that's your opinion you enjoy it.
My opinion is that AM THINKS he's the best. And the dollars just helps illustrate the rot that is the old coach, current players and management...Like analytics it's just a tool.
Marchand had a Stanley Cup and World Cup Gold. Pastrnak signed for less than US$7M (and less than Willy Ny) after a big points year for a 'team-friendly' deal and was happy-happy because he loves to play. McDavid adjusted his ask to leave $ for others.
Not greedy-greedy like AM, WN, MM...

crosby, malkin, toews, kucherov all have a worse cost-per-point rate than most of the leafs. do these "illustrate the rot" in their teams?

marchand signed his contract before the olympics/world cup so i don't understand your point. it was fair value for his level of play at the time he signed. nylanders cap hit percentage was lower than pastrnak when he signed.

please respond when you stop pulling nonsensical opinions out of your ass. maybe get a hobby that isn't frothing hatred of a hockey team you don't like too.
