You're missing that this is less cap friendly with a 20 man roster. As bad as Barrie as been, no proof Rosen is an NHLer. I thought Zaitsev was fair value, but Leafs partly made the trade for Ceci so the Leafs would have more cap starting next year.
It was the Nylander, Matthews contracts that tied the Leaf hands cap wise last summer...compounded by the outrageous Marner contract.

Marner makes Nylander's contract the great one on the team.

I'm missing Gardiner, that's what I forgot. Oh well, still no cap room for him, thanks to all the other overpayments to the team's RFA's.
