I honestly just dont think hes on the market, the team is half way through its rebuild and selling off their next starter is counterproductive. The odea is for Peterson to be ready to take over when all their rookies are ready to step in as well

Petersen could have been the starter last season. He won't be traded, especially with Quick going down the pooper.

Petersen is in the group of 4-5 unmovable prospects, a huge part of our rebuild right now. Toffoli should be worth a second and a mid-tier prospect on his own, also the key to moving Kovy's contract is so that we don't carry cap into next year, under this, we retain his 2M, and take on another 5M next year. Essentially we have more of a cap hit for this year and next, lose our best goalie prospect and wash out our value for a mid-20s pick. I'd rather just eat Kovy's salary next year, get an ok return from Toffoli, and keep our best goalie prospect.
