Lol Nylander > Hall? Did I miss anything? Hall is definitely the better player. And even on an expiring contract he carries more value than Nylander. Ceci, Petan and Hutch don't have value. Same for Domingue and Mclead. But you want the Devils to retain 50% on Hall and also Severson? Start with at least 1 first a 2nd and a conditional 1st if Hall resigns or TOR reaches the 2nd round of the playoffs

I am a leafs fan though and though. In NO way is Nylander > Hall. No way. It is not even close. Being younger, having term on your contract, and being a right hand shot does not make you better player than Hall.

yes he did win that trophy, 18 months ago, 1 knee surgery ago, and he is not re-signing in NJ, and if he does, its for 11M/year for a 29 year old (by this time next year when the contract kicks in)
do your option is
a) lose him for nothing
b) sign a 29 year old to an 11+M deal
c) trade for picks / prosepects you hope turn into something
d) get a 23 year old Winger, signed for the next 5 years at under $7m; who in 2 full years and a protracted contract year has put up .69ppg (take out last year and its 0.743 ppg)
e) ps in Hall's first 3 years he put up 0.75ppg
f) hall has playsed 75+ games in 3/9 years; Nylander (when signed has played every game)
