Overpay for Johnson, Farrance is really good, and I'm high on Järnkrok, you probably have up more for him than VAN did for Miller, and Miller is definitely more valuable, and Tampa won that trade

I am a Vancouver native and I disagree that Tampa won that trade. People initially thought it was a bad trade because nobody expected the Canucks to be in a strong position to do well. Of course I could be proved wrong if they suddenly do bad, but if Miller is already part of a "true" top six here, and he is what it takes to push the canucks over the top, then I have no problem giving up a later half first for him. Just look at the wasted first round picks on rental forwards.

I would say Miller is a pretty equal player to Johnson. Miller is slightly more skilled, but Johnson is slightly cheaper for a similar thing. Essentially Granlund's replacement. I wasn't sure on Farrance's value - just saw he is still unsigned after a few drafts passed by. Lower the pick a round or two.

You guys lost the Miller deal not bc it wasn't fair value, it was, you lost it bc Tampa had (and still has with Johnson) almost 0 negotiating power and you still gave up fair value
