If I’m right, when a waiver elidgable is put on waivers, every other team and a chance to claim him for a team who claims him that had/has the lowest points gets him. If he’s not claimed by another team within a day, off he goes to the AHL.

Once a player is no longer waivers exempt (based on length of time since signing first contract, age, and NHL experience), they must be placed on waivers before they can be sent down. Any team can claim a player off waivers. If more than one team claims a player, he is awarded to the team with the higher priority. Once a team is awarded a player, he must remain on their roster or be returned to waivers. He can then be claimed by another team. If not claimed, he can then be sent to the minors.

Just wanted to be clear on the process of the ladder of claiming. So if SJS claims someone and so does LA; LA would than receive the player. That’s what I gather
