I hope so. I'd like to get the $2.5M off the books (NYI has enough D depth anyways). Hickey is also still a viable NHL d-man. Got caught in the numbers game. He doesn't deserve to be in the AHL

My thoughts exactly. Hickey is a solid defenseman (worth his contract btw) , he’s just the victim of a lot of depth on the islanders

That is not what that means. Leddy would be on the 2nd pairing of almost every NHL team. Some even 1st pairing. More likely it means that the islanders didn’t like what they were being offered for leddy so they decided to keep him.
