The islanders D was ranked #1 in the league last season. statistically Adam pelech-Ryan pulock were a top 10 pairing . Devon toews emerged as a top 4 defenseman and one of the best D prospects in the league (Dobson) will be in the top 4 this year. How is that not good?

The Islanders allowed the fewest goals in the NHL. That can be attributed to about 9,000 factors. In no way does it mean that they have the #1 ranked D corps. There is no metric for that.

We're not moving Cizikas. He may not get a new contract depending on salary, but he's absolutely not getting traded.

According to the athletic , pelech had the 7th best defensive impact in the league among defenders with tough useage. “It was pulock unleashed and his further growth into one of the leagues best defenders that could be what keeps this team on the right side of the playoff race.” But goaltending!

Leddy and boychuk are also no longer our 2nd pairing - toews- mayfield took over that role and they are definitely not a liability. Leddy-Dobson will be the 3rd pairing until Dobson improves enough to take mayfields spot with toews.

Facts? What are you talking about? A player being good or bad is inherently subjective in hockey, especially with defense. Do you know of any stats that show that it is factual that someone is good? Is that what you’re looking for? That stat doesn’t exist. Hockey is a subjective game. That’s why we’re all here.
