the Veteran core on the ice jesus . . .
i'm not going talk about players that were not on the ice
i cant believe this is a thing lmfao

i'm out
this is just getting to confusing like speaking english to someone who can only speak french

You're the one who can't put together a proper sentence.. you know the players who are top 6 veterans that got outplayed!

The only top 6 in the lineup for MTL from last year were Drouin, Danault, Tatar. Drouin caused that line to be bad. They did not get outplayed by AHL'rs. Would you consider Barkov, Dadanov, huberdeau, and Hoffman AHL'rs?

Like what is your point?

i do agree with your point about moving a player for a D but moving Drouin when he looked so comfortable with Domi the other night just seems unwise until we see how that plays out

Tatar though i'd move him while he's got Value again

I didn't see Drouin looking comfortable with Domi last night. I though drouin was bad last night too.

He is a liability. Domi is much better with two players who arent liabilities (like Lehkonen and Shaw at the end of last season).

Not necessarily. Drouin + Cole Caufeld + Ryan Poehling + A first + A 2nd that can become a first based on performance-based conditions could do it. That's a massive return. I know you're a huge avs fan, but be realistic.

Thats different from what you were eluding to, now you are saying Drouin plus emptying their prospect pool... Now Drouin isnt the centre piece, Caufield and Poehling would be bc Drouin isnt the world beater that people assume he still could be.

Theres a difference there. My point is Drouin cant be the centre piece or the best piece in any hypothetical trade, hes simply just not good enough

Case and Point its not just me
if you got to smack talk about grammar
even you know you're wrong but just dont want to lose face

As far as Liability thats the point of Lehkonen on the line
Drouin moves the puck creating, Lehkonen digs out pucks and Domi Shoots when in the OZ
Defensively Lehkonen will be the last one in and first one back in the DZ
this isnt opinion its how they played together in the Scrimage in Brassard and Game 1 vs NJD
Even if Drouin's the worst defensive player in the world he lead MTL with 16 Power Play points last year and
3rd on the team with 22 points just 2 points from being 1st

whatever your issues with Drouin he's consistently our best Power Play Player an area we suck at .
he's not a top line 5v5 player because his high speed of play suffers the more minutes he plays
but he's a very effective Power Play player who can grow beside Domi on the Power Play if nothing else that has Value

Tatar had 8 Power Play points last year and has always been with 70 PP points in 502 games to Drouins 72 in 332 games
Trade Tatar that was the hole point of us getting him in the trade as a Reclamation project .
if you werent telling us to move out a player who's a leader in the weakest aspect of our game maybe it would make sense
but that's not the case you're seemingly just wanting to move someone to get a D prospect so use Tatar he's on borrowed time.

Ristolainen for Drouin
Both high overrated and flawed players that could use a change of scenery.
Risto helps the MTL PP
Drouin can be a playmaking Winger to play with Eichel and Skinner so Reinhart can move to the 2nd line

Drouin has always been a good powerplay player. Last year he was the most used forward on the 2nd worst powerplay in the league. Is he not somewhat responsible for the bad powerplay last year then?

Comparing drouin to tatar is stupid. Not even sure why you went there. Drouin gets more powerplay time than tatar, and what powerplay time tatar got last season would not have been first unit.

Despite all those powerplay stats:
Drouin: 18G, 35A, 53 P, -8 in 81 GP.
Tatar: 25G, 33A, 58 P, +21 in 80 GP.

The +/- stat is very telling here. Drouin is a liability. When Drouin was with Danault and Gallagher that line was an even 0. Domi was a +20, he is way better than Drouin and he definitely didn't get to be +20 when he was on the ice with Drouin and his -8. Think about that. That is a difference of 28 goals in favour of Domi in the limited time he was away from drouin. That is ridiculous. Drouin was terrible.

He may break out of this and play like he did in Tampa when a fire was lit under him. I was hoping for a breakout year from him, but as of now he looks completely lost.

Drouin needs Domi. Domi does not need Drouin.

@Billy739 Drouin has looked great tonight. I think he can prove me wrong and I hope he does. This is what I was waiting to see from him.. lesson learned preseason is preseason.
