I will say, I won't lose any respect for missing training camp. In the end it won't mean anything. He's probably training and staying healthy in Finland anyway. If he misses actual games on the otherhand is where I draw the line. Goes for Marner, Point, Tkachuk, etc.

I don't think you can blame is solely on these RFA's. Like the gm's hand out crazy contracts to UFA's all the time, because of the RFA tag the gm's try to cap it. The RFA has to be changed. Does skinner deserve 9 mil after 1 season of 40 goals? marner had 30 more points than him this year how does he not deserve more than him. Does Hayes deserve his big contract? The UFA & RFA used to work but the game is changing to a younger game so now they have to change the way contracts work or this is going to happen every year and lots of better players are going to miss games.
