Recchi for desjardins, leclair Dionne. Would be one and probably recent buf wpg would be another where the package was better than the player going forward. Drawing blanks though anybody got any others

Couple examples going both ways, if you put a percentage to it, do you think it would be beyond 50/50, and how do u think cap era and expansion draft effect

Jets going to have to gamble it win on this one, with the unknown draftpicks and 3 year elc guys that don’t have to be protected if laine actually does get moved

For me its simple if you’re not receiving a crosby or a MacKinnon or mcdavid giving three good pieces for one great is a bad trade. Historically. The team that acquire the best players in that kind of deal was always the loosers. I mean the guys might have 40 goal season and making highlights but he won’t be more 20 min a game on ice. I mean even if the guys make 80 point a years the three olayers you might trade will have 120maybe more together.

I could see that, now everything goes back to price tag and ability to protect at expansion draft. Interesting times ahead in wpg

I would say 25/75 25 % of time the team that acquired the star players and the rest benefits the team that traded the star.

So as long as the package is shiny enough and some decent contracts and or team control, not too be too worried about laine on the block. In Chevy I trust

’ve been going through the trades of the past, and trying to take a tally of which side of the ledger predominantly wins.

February 1964. Leafs acquire aging star Andy Bathgate and solid veteran for Don McKenney for two solid veterans Dick Duff, Bob Nevin, two good prospects, Arnie Brown, Rod Collins and great prospect Rod Seiling. The immediate boast of the trade helped Leafs win the Cup in 1964, Plus Bathgate and McKenney were later traded and some of those assets traded in those trades help the Leaf win the Cup in 1967.
The young players acquired by the Rangers helped a floundering team gain respectability for years, plus the trading of some of those players later added more players to the Rangers lineup.
You could argue the original trade helped the Leafs win two Cups....Rangers none
