i won't talk about value here but, PHI have Konecny and Provorov to sign with 13 millions free and now you're adding Laine in this mix while asking one of the best contract in the NHL back...

This makes absolutely no sense for the flyers. Trading their 1C who has been in the selke conversation for the past 4 years for a guy who may score a ton of goals but disappears for long amounts of time makes no sense. Also Giroux has played wing for the past 2 seasons. Hayes was added to let Patrick develop on the third line.

not a chance PHI does this - couturier is one of the best defensive centers in the game and he still puts up 30+ G 70 ptts. Not to mention he's on a contract way below market value.

You can argue that Couturiere is the superior player and gets paid 4.3 X 3. Flyers are solid on the wings, Laine is would be be a luxury. Why do folks keep on trading an unsigned player? Do you think the Flyers or any team want to get into the endless negotiations and expensive Laine (name any RFA). Flyers once they sign Pronovov and Konecky can't afford the Laine cap dump.
These RFAs really don't have the leverage signing with another NHL team....virtually everyone is at the cap and they are RFAs.

Flyers don’t do the trade but this isn’t true for his career. It was only last season and everyone is freaking out like he didn’t score 45 as a 19 year old

There is no doubt Laine is a good player but he's a goal scorer not only does Couturier score goals but hes one of the best two way centers in the game.
