I mean I think Gaudreau is definitely more skilled than Scheifele. But if you asked me which player I'd rather have on my team, it'd definitely be close, I might even lean towards Scheifele. Centre is the more valuable position, and Scheifele is a 6'3" power forward that has physicality in his game. 100% Johnny Gaudreau is the more skilled player. But Scheifele is an absolute beast. And he's an animal in the playoffs (14 goals in 17 playoff games in 2018). Gaudreau has like 4 goals in 20 playoff games... People value being able to step up come playoff time. Scheifele is a great leader and a clutch player. I'm not a fan of the Jets or the Flames, so I tried to be unbiased. But I definitely understand why someone might pick Scheifele over Gaudreau. I personally think it's very close. But I certainly wouldn't call someone delusional for picking Scheifele 1 spot above Gaudreau...
