Flames would give Hamonic a very similar deal. He specifically asked to be traded to a northwestern team because he wanted to be closer to his family.

Have to give him 6M AAV or more to attract him to move all the way out east again.

I personally think he goes home to Winnipeg but we can afford to offer him 6 AAV in this scenario.

I dont think Minn is going to give up Dumba and Zucker for essentially marner and a second , that other kid is negligible. Marner for Dumba maybe.... if you are lucky some picks too.

Ya it will be his decision. You're still not factoring in Marner and his contract though. Unless the leafs just let him sit the whole year, your other trade proposal is sort of weak.

The Wild are looking at off loading their bad contracts in Parise and Suter. Trading a young top 1 dman in Dumba doesnt make much sense to acquire a player that's demanding 10+ AAV a year.

Marner is great. But hes not screw your team over great. Teams want valid prospects on the verge of playing in the NHL

Dumba is a massive part of the Wild. They got some players for RD but they aren't trading him.

Sure I am, Dumba and Zucker combined cost 11.5 assuming we don't get them then we will still have the money. Nobody is taking Parise or Sutter, and I think that Fenton, has proven that we have no idea what he's going to do. It's not all doom and gloom if they trade him as they still have Spurgeon, Pateryn and in this case, Duszak could/should be ready to step in next year if not then signing a stopgap FA isn't impossible.

And Marner is a massive part of our offence...so what's your point? Minny has enough depth on the right side that it won't hurt them going forward too much. Also, I think Fenton has proven that we have no idea what he's going to do.

what enough depth lol Pateryn can't take top4 duties, MIN is trying to trade him; Belpedio had a strong season in AHL but don't think he is ready either and Johansson will play in Sweden again/top6 potential. Doesn't mean that TOR is okay by trading Marner (which they are probably not) that MIN trade Dumba lol

Minnesota likely isn't making the playoffs this year so it doesn't matter if Pateryn is playing top 4 if anything it helps showcase him more. The whole point was that both teams are trading from a position of strength to improve both of their biggest weaknesses. Yes, this deal is unlikely to happen however it does make sense for both sides and with Fenton, we never know what he's going to do.

it doesn't make " sense " for both sides, Minnesota is trading a guy that will probably be with their team his entire career lol

It's an NHL 21 trade you make that will never happen in real life lol
