I'm actually curious what the Blues would really have to pay to acquire McDavid.
Would definitely have to start with Parayko and Thomas.

We wouldn't.....Parayko worth too much to us, Thomas worth too much to us. Our team is pretty much set. McDavid brings nothing to the table by himself and a few assets like what this team would be in that trade. Hypothetically from what I have seen Parayko can very well be a Top 10 Defenseman in the League, now this is based on EA Sports, and people saying that's a very good placement. I think he might be a little lower, but he is definitely better than Pietrangelo. So we would probably never trade Parayko, and imo Parayko, Thomas, O'Reilly, Tarasenko, Dunn, and Schwartz are all untouchable, but it might be a little different in the eyes of Armstrong.

There's no trade offer the Blues could offer where Edmonton would accept for McDavid.

I agree, I wouldn't want it either, but I'm just humoring the idea of it. I think they would seriously consider something starting with Parayko, Thomas and a 1st, and then add pieces from there.

Your better off keeping your depth and assets rather than have one player

McDavid has the same point totals (basically) as all those three during any given season and Binnington has played one year. There's almost no trade that equates to what McDavid brings

That's probably a reasonable assumption about what it would take to get McDavid and he's the very best player in the whole wide world, but damn I'm not as plussed about this as I'd hope I would be and moving a franchise face is always tough to expect being realistic no matter what you pay for them
