Why would we trade Risto in the division for a mediocre youngster and someone I never heard of?

Bertuzzi is not a mediocre youngster and is the exact value of Risto.

He had 47 points, ok, better than mediocre, but I fail to see why we want some random guy with him. Plus it’s still in division and a very risky deal.

Dump Scandella and get a player for Rochester, Ehn is a fine depth guy

i disagree

as much as i hope botts trades risto i think he could get a better deal than this

I have Risto listed as the 28th best RHD in NHL and Bertuzzi as the 41st best LW

dmen are already more valuable than wingers and i still think 55 has a higher ceiling than bertuzzi

That was also Bertuzzi's first full season and has much room to grow. He has an amazing hockey IQ. Hes also quickly taking over Marchand as the best pest in the league, I 100% want that

NYR aren't trading Krieder for a bad aging defenseman they don't need and a 3rd line prospect...neither would make their roster better and Thompson wouldn't make it at all.

And there's no way I would trade Ristolainen for another LW and a 4th line center.

I'd rather keep Bogosian and Scandella, instead of getting Staal...both of their contracts are up after this season, Staal has another year making more than both of them.

(And it's doubtful Greene waives his NTC to come to Buffalo.)

Oh, and there is also no reason why Okposo would be put on LTIR...he's not injured, he played 78 games last year and 76 the year before,

Greene wouldn't be waiving to come to Buffalo. Ny is saving cap hit and a year off Staal for Greene (who is an upgrade imo). Sabres can weather that hit. Thompson is also not a 3rd line prospect, is on an ELC and can play in the NHL right now to add to their rebuilding roster. Theyll lose a lot harder moving Krieder for a pick to save cap space

All the trade rumor sites and sport sites have 2 teams after Risto Winnipeg and Edmonton no is talking about him going to Detroit. He is awful defensively, Detroit could move Neilson back on D and he might be as good offensively but I bet his defensive play would be a whole better.

6 RHD Dmen, 3 in the last 6 months, surplus, need for forwards, cap, etc etc its been explained a million times. If hes not traded Miller's moved to the left side. Its not a need to trade him but GMJBs best commodity

I actually don’t like any of your trades. I would rather trade for Copp and or Kase.

Vesey is statistically horrible defensively so he should be on the forth line with Larsson and Girgensons. He’ll bring more scoring to that line.

But if he is half as good as Sabers fans make him out be Buffalo wouldn't be trading him they trade some one else.

In the last week or so I haven't seen an article or a rumor that has Detroit tied Risto. I say a week or so because that's when I started looking.

Who knows if Botterill is trying to trade him, he may be listening, but that doesnt mean he's shopping him. The Sabres fans on here also dont work for the Sabres, we dont knkw the actual plan

the reason he acquired those other RHD dman is because Risto couldn’t get the job done...

No, the reason he acquired them is because they were insanely cheap (Nylander a 2nd and a 5th) and he'd be stupid to not make those trades, figure out what to do with them after. He may leave Jokiharu in Rochester too. And hasnt fully replace Risto, theirs definitely a spot for him, but the Sabres can benefit from what ever return he brings.

yeah they were relatively cheap but it still took some decent peices to get them...Botts knows Risto was not playing well at all in the role he was in....

Dahlin-Miller
McCabe-Montour
Pilut-Bogosian/Nelson

No need for Risto

why keep him on the 3rd pair when you could trade him to a team like winnipeg who needs a 2nd pair RHD bad and u can package him for a top 6 forward or something...idk but to mee the writing is on the wall that Botts is looking to move 55....he badly needs a change of scenery
