well in 82 games someone will get hurt even for a game or 2 and not enough to be on LTIR so thats where the trouble comes in trying to fit a replacement under 200,000

Can we just stop thinking Mitch Marner should get similar money to Auston Matthews? This is getting beyond ridiculous. Ever since entering the league, no player has scored more even strength goals than Matthews, Marner is absolutely not in the same category in terms of individual ability. Also, Matthews is the far better all round player, he kills penalties which Marner doesn’t.

though you are probably correct...I love how all season Leaf fans are like "Marner is amazing", "he is our best player most nights". and even the Tv guys are saying "marner is the Leafs engine"...but then when it comes time to pay him, now everyone is like " well he isn't that great", "well he plays wing so..."

either way I dont care, I just think it is funny. The same people that scream till they're red in the face on how good he is, are generally the same people that are campaigning against him now.
