1 year of Trouba isn't an option for the Rangers. It takes him right to UFA, so it could only be a one year thing

Definitely some risk here for both sides...best for the Rangers would be a 7 yr deal...that, though is contingent on ability to make a fair value trade for one of Strome, Names, or Fast...or the willingness to jettison one of these players for pennies on the dollar...trade market extremely tight for the types of commodities the Rangers would look to move.

EvolvingWild has him projected at 6.15 for a 1 year deal...if you look at other players- what they signed for versus what initially projected...EW is usually in the ballpark.
More likely than him not accepting this contract is the Rangers willing to give it- he will get a big raise with a 7 or 8 year term next year...only reason Rangers would go with 1 yr is being unable to reasonably get out from Cap Crunch

Well we have clarity on the contract at this point.
