The idea is to give the young centers playing time to aid their development. Chytil should have been switched with Strome. This team should be improved, but they're not quite ready to challenge for the cup. Shatty's defensive play is his weakness so putting him 3rd pair seemed to be a better matchup situation.

He's an RFA with no arb rights who has played 19 NHL games. I toyed with signing him for his qualifier for one year making him RFA, with arb rights, again next year.
