I have been a Nylander defender since his holdout and after his subpar half-season, but damn that is a lot to give up for him. He's still young so I guess it isn't implausible, but I think the cap will benefit Toronto's trade partner

9.5 x 8 would be a tough pill but at least the term is good. Believing he should be paid in the #1 centre tier is laughable when you look at the stats in comparison to Matthews, as well as the effect Tavares has had on his linemates ( Moulson, Okposo, Lee, Bailey).

Everyone wants to trade Nylander to overpay Marner but how much of a difference is there really...between the two? 7M + 4.5M?? It's nuts.

I guess you're right as far as Sikura & Fortin go. Dahlstrom will be a consistent player, and CHI did get a top 3 pick this year (I don't see them being a top 5 pick again, though). I think Nylander should stay if anything, TOR can trade one of the RFAs before they need to unload Nylander
